Steve was a Deputy for 17 years and a life long resident of Mercer County before being elected Sheriff in 2008. Steve received his Law Enforcement Training in Jefferson City at the Missouri State Highway Patrol Academy in 1993

Chief Deputy Lou Collobert - 651
Lou moved to Mercer County and joined our office as a Deputy in January of 2000. Previously Lou was in law enforcement in the late seventies to early eighties in the Kansas City area.
Lou is a volunteer firefighter with the Mercer Fire Protection District and active with the American legion in Mercer

Reserve Deputy Jimmy See - 652
Jimmy moved to Mercer County and was employed by Bridewell Detention Facility. In 2005 Jimmy was hired by the Grundy County Sheriff's Office. Jimmy transferred to the Mercer County Sheriff's Office in May of 2013.
Previously Jimmy was in law enforcement in California and received his training at the College of Sequoia in Visalia California.
Jimmy retired as a Full-Time Deputy on April 30th, 2018, but will remain on as a Reserve Deputy.

Randy Francis - 653
Randy was born and raised in the Cainsville area, and was a Deputy Sheriff in Harrison County for several years. He was also on the Regional Narcotics Team. He was also an Officer with Blue Springs Police Department for 9 1/2 years. He started in Mercer County in 2018.

Deputy Jose Lopez - 654
Having Lived in the Spickard and Trenton area since 2000, Jose Lopez is moving to the Princeton area along with his wife of six years, and their children. Jose looks forward to serving the residents of Mercer County as a Deputy Sheriff with the Mercer County Sheriff's Office.
Before being employed by the Mercer County Sheriff's Office, Jose served for over three years as a Deputy Sheriff for the Grundy County Sheriff's Office. .While employed with Grundy County, Jose also served on the Grundy County Crisis Intervention Team. Jose received his law enforcement training while serving as Military Police in the U.S. Army, stationed at Fort Knox Kentucky and deployed to Afghanistan. Jose was awarded a Combat Action Badge as well as a Purple Heart along with other merits while serving in the military.
